Bolin Marketing wins award for Bloomington Convention and Visitors Bureau Website
MINNEAPOLIS (5/20/10) —Bolin Marketing’s design and strategic work on the Bloomington Convention and Visitors Bureau’s (BCVB) website was recently celebrated with a win at the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International’s (HSMAI) annual Adrian Awards.
“The entire project team was thrilled with the win. It was one of those website projects that we knew we’d hit the mark on, but it was nice to see the recognition from HSMAI. Winning an industry award like this really speaks to the site’s contribution to business results” said Gino Giovannelli, Growth Catalyst with Bolin.
The entry was originally submitted by Bolin Marketing and was judged by a panel of advertising, public relations, media and Internet marketing professionals, along with leaders from the travel industry. The website accrued points based on creativity, quality, content, results and its ability to satisfy marketing objectives.
The redesigned BCVB website was presented with a Silver Adrian Award in the Web Marketing Division-Website category, which had a total of 151 entrants. The awards ceremony took place at the New York Marriott Marquis, and included over 1,100 contest entries.
“The client was very pleased with the site’s ability to drive awareness and engagement in Bloomington as a destination, as well as increase hotel revenue,” said Giovannelli. “The challenge was building a site that met the needs of multiple customer segments. To do this effectively required Bolin to manage multiple integration points, such as 10Best for destination content, weather feeds and articles; Google for maps and driving directions; Basic Medium for website design; SimpleView for its online RFP application and Valtira for backend programming and content management.”
